George Peppard’s classic hair in Breakfast at Tiffany’s
George Peppard was an American actor whose role as Paul Varjak in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s made him a popular name and actor (he co-starred alongside Audrey Hepburn). In Breakfast At Tiffany’s, George Peppard’s hairstyle is a classic side swept hairstyle with some angle (i.e. not completely perpendicular with the parted line). This type of mens hairstyle is what I like to call an angular side swept hairstyle, and it’s very similar to the Gatsby hairstyle, only that the angular side swept tends to be styled with shorter hair compared to the Gatsby hairstyle.
The side swept as well as the slicked back hairstyle were very popular hair styles in the ’50s and ’60s (Breakfast At Tiffany’s was released in 1961). Continue reading →
Styling Guide for the Gatsby Hairstyle of Leonardo DiCaprio
In the 2013 movie The Great Gatsby, Leonardo DiCaprio wore a classic side swept hairstyle that is also known as a Gatsby hairstyle. Get Your Custom Slick Back Undercut
Slicking your hair is just a method, the end result can be as creative as you want it to look. Sure, we have the two main methods of hair slicking: classic slick and modern slick; but you can add your own customization to your own slicked back hair style.
An example of a custom slicked back undercut
See the picture below of a recent slicked back undercut. The hair on the sides and back is clipped to a tight number 3 (common hair clipper number for the undercut) with a little fading at the hairline, but there hair is mostly clipped evenly and thus it falls under what we barbers call an undercut haircut.
